This may be one of the more interesting TV "stand" setups I've seen before. I use the term "stand" loosely, because the shelves are floating, and we have the TV mounted ABOVE it (rather than just standing on it). We wouldn't want to risk the possibility of anything falling and breaking. So we simply wall-mounted the TV. And used a laser level to make accurate measurements and markings for placement of the floating shelves.
The materials are durable enough, look nice, are the right size and weight. It wasn't very hard to get it installed into the wall. It's nice that there's a hole already there for cords. It's just a nice wy to use up some of the negative space under your TV, if you're wall-mounting it.
